Applications: CAT5e F/UTP cables used in data transmission systems that work up to 155 Mbit/s. CAT5E F/UTP cable is a LAN (local are network ) cable. Also used as installation drop cable for internal telephone wiring. CAT5e F/UTP cables are particularly preferred in the offices, buildings where many terminals are found. Advantage of Category 5e F/UTP over Category 5e UTP is that CAT5e F/UTP has aluminium overall foil with drain wire which protects signals from electromagnetic interference. Category 5e F/UTP type should be preferred if electromagnetic interference is the main concern of local area network. CAT5e F/UTP comes in 24 awg ( approx. 0,51 mm ) size and 4 pair configuration standard although other size and pair options available.
Structure:Solid bare copper wire conductors. Although most common size is 24awg ( approx. 0,51 mm diameter ) various sizes could be used. Polyolefin insulation. 4 cores color coded according to TIA/EIA : solid green, blue, brown and orange. Other 4 cores with base white and color coded stripes/ rings . Cores are twisted into pairs. 4 pairs twisted in layers. Overall screen of laminated Aluminium foil with drain wire. PVC Jacket for indoor applications..
