Applications: CAT6 F/ UTP stands for: Category 6 foiled / Unshielded twisted pairs. Category 6 F/UTP cable is LAN type, unshielded twisted pairs with overalll screen of laminated aluminium foil. Category 6 F/UTP is used as main distribution and client side/terminal connection wire in local area networks. CAT 6 F/UTP also used in internal telephone wiring and as connection cable for recently developed digital cameras in CCTV applications. Indoor use only. Advantage of Category 6 F/UTP over Category 6 UTP is that CAT6 F/UTP has aluminium overalll foil with drain wire which protects signals from electromagnetic interference. Category 6 F/UTP type should be preferred if electromagnetic interference is the main concern of large scale local area networks.
Structure:Solid bare copper wire conductors. Although most common size is 23awg various sizes could be used. Polyolefin insulation over bare copper conductors. Cores color coded according to TIA/EIA 568.B2. Cores are twisted into pairs. 4 pairs twisted in layers with polyolefin seperator in the middle. Seperator unit is not a must. Overall screen of laminated Aluminium foil with drain wire. PVC Jacket for indoor use..
