Applications: CAT6 SF/ UTP stands for: Category 6 Screened Foiled / Unshielded Twisted Pairs. Category 6 SF/UTP cable is LAN type data transmission cable. Category 6 SF/UTP is used as main distribution and client side/terminal connection wire in local area networks. CAT 6 SF/UTP also used in internal telephone wiring and as connection cable for recently developed digital cameras in CCTV applications. Indoor use only. Advantage of Category 6 SF/UTP over Category 6 UTP and CAT F / UTP is that CAT6 SF/UTP has braiding of tinned copper wire screen against electromagnetic interference. Category 6 SF/UTP type should be preferred if electromagnetic interference is the main concern of large scale local area networks. Indoor use only.
Structure:Solid bare copper wire conductors. Although most common size is 23awg various sizes could be used as well. Polyolefin insulation over bare copper conductors. Cores color coded according to TIA/EIA 568.B2. Cores are twisted into pairs. 4 pairs twisted in layers with polyolefin base cross shape seperator in the middle. Seperator unit is not a must. Overall screen of laminated Aluminium foil with drain wire. Braiding of tinned copper wire. PVC Jacket , according to EN 50290-2-22 (TM52), VDE0207(YM2)..
